Note, please. If you anticipate joining the CLGA next season, you are requested to bring your check for dues for 2017 to Josie at or before the luncheon. Checks should be made payable to Clearview Ladies Golf Association in the amount of $85.00. This change in procedure is to keep our bank balance in the range where we will not have to pay bank charges during the off season. Thank you.
This is an election year for CLGA, too, and it is time for each member to think about how she can contribute to the club, whether by running for office or helping in some other way. Too often, we just go along, playing our golf, and do not contribute anything to the operation of the club. It is every member's responsibility to do something for the club, in some way. Think of what you could do. Would you offer to run for office? There would be plenty of support for anyone willing to take on an office. You might ask "What else could I do?" Here are some suggestions, but I'm sure you can think of more or maybe two of you or more could volunteer for a job or project. Volunteer to do the pairings for one month (our season is 8 months long). Volunteer to find monthly games that might be fun for the members, and plan and run them. This could be a project for a few people. Volunteer to assist the handicap chair. Learn how it works. Volunteer to purchase trophies for awards luncheon Volunteer to arrange for and plan the mid season luncheon and/or the final awards luncheon Volunteer to keep the plaques up to date Volunteer to maintain club records - winners, officers, etc. Think of other ways that you can support the CLGA
Read our Mission Statement (below) and find ways to contribute.
The CLGA purpose is to provide a golf club experience for women at Clearview Park Golf Course. It provides an organized schedule which includes tee times and various competitions for the enjoyment of its members, handicaps to allow members to compete fairly, and a representative authority to oversee the golf and social aspects of membership. The club encourages its members to participate in its activities and to volunteer their service on the various committees essential to the successful operation of the Club. The Pro Shop can provide contact information for women interested in joining the Club.
